Introduction

Cyber Security Consultant Apprentice Role Description:

In keeping with our client’s company focus, this role will mostly focus on Governance, Risk and Compliance activities as we help our clients gain and retain cyber security certifications such as Cyber Essentials, Cyber Assurance, and ISO 27001.

You will become a subject matter expert in one or more security frameworks and provide expert advice and guidance to their clients on how to become compliant with these standards, including writing and updating policies, providing training and eventually performing compliance audits and writing compliance reports.

You will need to be competent with the technical tools of the trade (such as Nmap or vulnerability scanners) so you can validate that the technical controls required by the policies are in place.

As you progress in your career, you will have the opportunity to specialise if you wish.

Key responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Full training will be provided to enable you to confidently:

• Provide expert advice to clients on security frameworks (such as: Cyber Essentials, Cyber Assurance, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS)
• Conduct compliance audits and gap analysis
• Respond to help desk tickets to resolve client questions and requests
• Monitor security systems for alerts and investigate security incidents
• Write policies and procedures that comply with security frameworks
• Conduct on-going training and personal development
• Create training materials for clients

9am to 5pm
