Introduction
Training needed to become an ICT Digital Apprentice, and what qualification you will gain at the end?
- ICT Apprentices will achieve the Information Communications Technician L3 Apprenticeship and have the chance to study towards industry-recognised certifications, including CompTIA A+, Cloud Essentials+ and ITIL v4 Foundation.
- Training is completed through our online classroom environment, with monthly one-to-one support from a dedicated tutor and a virtual fortnightly day release for Knowledge Training from our dedicated training team.
- Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.
What is the expected career progression after this ICT Digital apprenticeship?
Apprentices who complete this programme could potentially progress to Network Engineer L4 or Cyber Security apprenticeships.

Key responsibilities
What will the ICT Digital Apprentice be doing?
- Technical Support: Assist end-users by troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues via phone, via our ticketing system, or in person.
- System Maintenance: Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, including hardware installation, software updates, and security patches.
- Network Administration: Support the IT team in managing and monitoring the organization’s network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- User Account Management: Support the administration of user accounts, including creation, modification, and termination of accounts, password resets, and access permissions.
- IT Documentation: Help maintain accurate documentation of IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- IT Asset Management: Assist in tracking and managing IT hardware and software assets, including inventory management and license compliance.
- Technology Research: Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and advancements, providing insights and recommendations for improving IT infrastructure and processes.
- Communicate effectively through digital channels
- Assist with digital operations and digital change projects
- The post holder must be prepared to undergo Enhanced Disclosure and DBS checks and obtain any other statutorily required clearances.
Working hours
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
