Digital Apprenticeship Technical core

An overview of various areas and core concepts related to cyber security, networking, systems and applications, programming and data.

Risk Assessment

Apprentices will learn how to assess and manage information security risks.

Governance, Organisation, Law, Regulation & Standards

Apprentices will develop knowledge and understanding of known security threats and how they can be mitigated.

Cyber Security

Learn to assess, recommend and implement security solutions. Monitor and secure hybrid environments.

Risk and Information Systems Control

Apprentices will develop and validate their ability to design, implement, and maintain information security risks.

Information Security Management

Gain knowledge and experience in the managerial aspects of information security.

End Point Assessment (EPA)

The apprentice, employer and coach will meet to progress the apprentice through gateway to their EPA period.

Learner Commitment

The BIT Apprenticeship is delivered using our Embed, Develop, & Extend delivery model.

EMBED (MONTHS 1-14):

Weekly day release day release in our online classroom developing their overall cyber security knowledge and understanding
Completion of a summative module project for each learning module
Additional commitment to self-study for each learning module

DEVELOP (MONTHS 15-24):

Guided completion of open evidence-based projects
Monthly 1-2-1 session with EPA Specialist
Preparation for EPA

EXTEND:

Apprentices are invited to extend and widen their workplace skills and behaviours, through a number of additional training sessions and resources including Careers Information Advice and Guidance workshops, safeguarding workshops, workplace professionalism workshops and guest speakers.

Apprentices are also invited to access our catalogue of training videos providing technical training courses across the spectrum of IT and Cyber Security.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

Maths/English Level 2*

*Proof of GCSE grade C/4 or above or equivalent qualifications will proxy apprentices from sitting functional skills
