Bridging the Tech Talent Gap, South West’s Recruitment Boost

BIT Training has received further funding to support Devon and Cornwall. It is set to bolster the South-West region’s tech capabilities through BIT Training, selected to inaugurate its latest Skills for Life IT Readiness Skills Bootcamp. This program will equip 68 trainees with top-tier IT and Cyber training to supply the South-West job market or internally upskill with highly skilled and industry-ready professionals.

Scheduled to commence on 30th October, the IT and Cyber Skills for Life Skills Bootcamps continue to fill the regional tech industry’s demand for high-calibre tech skills and technical expertise. Notably, these candidates will be available for hiring without associated recruitment fees upon completion.

Open to residents aged 19+ in Devon or Cornwall, these Skills Bootcamps blend learning with real-world experience. Delivered by industry experts, these commercial Skills Bootcamps transcend conventional ‘tickbox learning,’ ensuring that trainees exit with coveted BCS, CompTIA, ITIL, and CertNexus internationally recognised certifications.

The IT industry’s pressing challenge today is the skills gap that needs immediate attention. One region acutely affected by this gap is the South West, where companies in Devon and Cornwall are actively seeking qualified talent to fill vital early career positions.

Commenting on the availability of these soon-to-be-qualified trainees, Leandra Goncalves of BIT Training stated, “At BIT Training, we’re unwavering in our support for the Skills for Life Bootcamp initiative. This programme empowers individuals from various employment backgrounds, whether they’re currently employed, underemployed, or seeking opportunities, and readies them for rewarding careers in the thriving IT sector of the South West. The UK’s IT industry continues to evolve, creating a substantial need for new, highly skilled professionals. Through initiatives like this, we ensure that Devon and Cornwall have the skilled workforce essential for global competitiveness.”
