Train4Tomorrow bootcamp: Cyber Readiness, Edmund
Despite having over 20 years experience, Edmund was struggling to find a senior IT Management role to match his skills and experience.
When Edmund came across the Train4Tomorrow Cyber Readiness bootcamp delivered by BIT online, he thought it was the perfect opportunity to stay relevant to the developments taking place in the IT sector, and would provide him with the chance to hone his skills-set and become a specialist in Cyber security, rather than a generalist IT Manager.
Edmund was pleased to see the course was open to learners of all ages and that it offered the flexibility to work from home over the 12 week duration, which, despite living on rural Dartmoor, he has been able to access seamlessly.
As well as access to technical IT and cyber skills, Edmund has also benefited from a module delivered by The Cornwall Marine Network which focuses on soft skills including interview technique and CV writing.
Edmund said: “The course content is fantastic, very user friendly and interactive. I’ve looked at CompTIA training courses in the past, but have always found the cost a hindrance. I wanted to upskill in the IT sector, and was delighted to come across the Train4Tomorrow bootcamp which has provided me with access to industry-leading training completely for free.”
Whilst taking part in the bootcamp Edmund found employment as a Cyber Security and Risk Compliance Manager and is confident that the Cyber Readiness certification he is working towards played a big role in his appointment.
Edmund continued: “Before I enrolled on the Train4Tomorrow bootcamp I felt that I was stuck in a rut of not getting anywhere with job applications. I want to say thank you to Train4Tomorrow and BIT for this wonderful opportunity. It’s been such an enriching experience and I’ve been telling everyone how fantastic the courses are. To anyone thinking about taking part in a Train4Tomorrow bootcamp I would say do it! You’d be hard pushed to find such a great opportunity.”
