Devon and Cornwall set to receive boost to young tech talent

In an effort to get the South-West region ‘tech ready’, BIT Training are recruiting for their latest IT and Cyber Skills Bootcamp offering 24 candidates some of the best IT training available across Devon and Cornwall.

The course, which is due to start on 5th June, will end up delivering a raft of highly trained and market ready individuals into a South-West jobs market that badly needs high calibre IT skills and technical knowhow. Best of all these candidates come with no associated recruitment fees once the course is completed.

Open to people aged 19+ who are resident in either Devon or Cornwall, these Skills Bootcamps combine learning and real-world experience. The course is delivered by established, industry experts and they’re about as far removed from ‘tickbox learning’ as is possible and it means that all candidates exit the course with CompTIA, ITIL ® and CertNexus certifications.

The biggest single issue facing the IT industry today, is that there’s a significant skills gaps that desperately needs to be filled and the only threat to the sector is that ‘demand’ is outstripped by ‘supply’. One region that suffers more than most is the South-West with companies across Devon and Cornwall searching for qualified talent to fill positions.

Commenting on the availability of the soon to be qualified candidates, James Pickard of BIT Training, said:

“BIT Training continue to support the Skills for Life Bootcamp initiative which helps develop individuals that are employed, underemployed or unemployed, preparing them for a career in IT in the South-West region. The IT and cyber security sectors continue to grow rapidly in the UK and there is a high demand for skilled workers in these fields. This initiative will help to ensure that Devon and Cornwall have the skilled workforce it needs to compete in the global economy.”
